Progress on This Week's Recycling Incidents Was as Follows:

[Jiangsu Province's 100,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Recycling Project Commences] Recently, the draft environmental impact assessment report for the "Annual 100,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Dismantling, Recycling, and Second-life Application Project" was publicized for comments in Xinghua City, Jiangsu Province. The project will recycle 100,000 mt of scrap lithium batteries, including battery packs, battery modules, and battery cells, specifically LFP batteries and Ni-Co-Mn lithium batteries (i.e., ternary lithium batteries). It does not involve the recycling or treatment of hazardous waste batteries such as scrap lead-acid batteries, scrap nickel-cadmium batteries, or scrap mercury oxide batteries.

[Jiangxi Province's 50,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Commences] Recently, the Administrative Approval Bureau of Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, issued a notice on the intended acceptance of the environmental impact assessment report for the "Annual 50,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project." It is understood that the total project investment is 260 million yuan. The construction site is located in the Xinhua Industrial Subdistrict, Dayu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. Upon completion, the project will process 5,000 mt/year of batteries suitable for second-life applications, 5,000 mt/year of scrap ternary lithium battery cells, 10,000 mt/year of scrap cathode pieces, and 30,000 mt/year of scrap anode pieces, with a total processing capacity of 50,000 mt/year. The annual output will include 1,125 mt of second-life batteries, 3,573 mt of ternary battery black mass (a mixture of cathode and anode powder), 8,523 mt of cathode powder, 23,104 mt of anode powder, 7,010.555 mt of copper powder, and 1,618.823 mt of aluminum powder.

[Guangzhou Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Commences] Recently, the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, issued an acceptance announcement for the environmental impact assessment report of the "Guangdong Province New Energy Circular Economy Zero-Carbon Smart Industrial Park Guangzhou Headquarters - Retired Power Battery and Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project." The project will use 30,000 mt/year of scrap lithium-ion battery packs (or modules) as raw material to produce second-life batteries through a second-life application process. It will also use 20,000 mt/year of scrap lithium-ion battery cells (including 900 mt of scrap lithium-ion cells obtained from the disassembly of scrap lithium-ion battery packs/modules) as raw material. Through crushing and screening processes, it will produce main products including ternary battery mixed powder and LFP battery mixed powder, with by-products of aluminum granules and battery casings.

[Jiangxi Fuzhou Power Lithium Battery Disassembly Recycling Project Commences] Recently, the official website of the Jinxi County People's Government in Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, released the first information notice regarding the environmental assessment for the "New Energy Storage Materials Project of Jiangxi Niuli New Material Co., Ltd." The construction site is located in the Chengxi High-Tech Development Zone, Jinxi County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The new project will use various valuable metal alloys, scrap, scrap ternary lithium batteries, cathode/anode materials, graphite powder, etc., as raw materials. Utilizing processes such as hydrometallurgical leaching, extraction, stripping, evaporation, and electrolysis, it will produce ternary cathode material, refined nickel, refined cobalt, scrap battery anode material, copper cathode, copper foil, and precious metals.
